Pregnancy Services
Alongside the care you receive from the NHS, we are able to offer a private, wraparound service designed to provide additional support throughout your pregnancy. Our approach is highly individualised, allowing us to tailor your care to your unique needs.
It is important to note that for any urgent concerns about your health or your baby’s wellbeing—such as reduced fetal movements, bleeding, or significant pain—you should always contact your NHS midwife immediately. Our role is to complement your NHS care by supporting you with the emotional, practical, and lifestyle aspects of pregnancy. This may include guidance around diet, exercise, preparing to feed your baby, and navigating some of the common challenges that can arise during this special time.
We are also able to offer the opportunity to listen to your baby’s heartbeat for reassurance. This can only be done safely and reliably after 12 weeks of pregnancy, as the baby is very small in the early weeks and it can be difficult to detect the heartbeat. Attempting to listen earlier often leads to unnecessary worry, so we encourage waiting until after this stage for a more positive and reassuring experience.
In addition, we provide a range of one-to-one support sessions, including:
• Antenatal colostrum harvesting and expressing support (1 hour)
• Antenatal feeding information and support (2 hours, ideal if group sessions are not for you)
• Birth planning (1 hour)
These sessions are designed to give you dedicated time, guidance, and reassurance in a safe and supportive space.
Grandparents Support Session (1.5 hours)
(A thoughtful Christmas or birthday gift — available as a one-to-one session or for a small group)
Becoming a grandparent is a wonderful milestone, but we also recognise that grandparenting today can feel quite different from when we raised our own children. Expectations, approaches, and even etiquette around supporting new parents have evolved, and it can sometimes be challenging to balance excitement with what our children feel is best for their growing family.
This supportive session is designed to help grandparents feel confident, informed, and valued in their new role. Together, we will explore:
• Updates around both breast and bottle feeding
• Guidance on when and how to visit after the birth
• Practical ways to plan ahead with your children
• How to offer support and encouragement while respecting new parents’ wishes
The aim is to equip you with gentle, up-to-date knowledge and strategies, helping you feel involved and supportive—without stepping on any toes—as your children transition into parenthood.
