Our Team
Hello, my name is Amy, and I am a proud mother of two wonderful boys. I currently work within the maternity services for the NHS and began my maternity apprenticeship in 2019. Over the past six years, I have gained experience across all areas of maternity care.
I am especially passionate about supporting women and their partners, not only physically but also emotionally. Pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period can feel overwhelming, and I believe that caring for mental health is just as important as supporting physical recovery. Gentle reassurance, guidance, and open conversations can make a huge difference in how families adjust to life with a newborn.
I thrive off helping others and making a difference in their journey into parenthood, which is why I am excited to offer a private service for expectant parents.
I love supporting parents to feel heard, confident, and reassured. For me, it’s not only about providing information but also creating a safe, welcoming space where women and families feel comfortable to share their experiences, challenges, and worries without judgment.
Every woman’s journey is unique, which is why I value person-centred care so highly. Through our private services at Nurturing Somerset Together, I hope to offer families a balance of knowledge, practical support, and emotional encouragement — helping them feel stronger, calmer, and supported at each stage of this special journey.
I’m Becky Scott, a midwife with over 21 years of experience, a proud mum of five, and a very happy Nana to two wonderful grandsons and another on the way! Somerset has been my home for the past 35 years, and it’s where my roots and passion for supporting families truly lie.
Throughout my career in the NHS, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of settings — from Chard and Taunton Community, to the birth centre, labour ward, and postnatal ward — gaining experience in every stage of the maternity journey.
I trained during a time when midwifery placed great emphasis not only on safe, skilled care, but also on empowering women with the confidence that their bodies are made to give birth. That belief has always stayed with me.
Over the years, I’ve also seen how the emotional side of becoming a parent is not always given the space and support it deserves. The transition to parenthood can be joyful but also overwhelming, and I believe it’s just as important to nurture emotional wellbeing as it is to provide physical care.
That’s why I’m especially passionate about postnatal support, recognising how vital it is in helping families grow, adjust, and thrive. This vision inspired the creation of Nurturing Somerset Together — and while Somerset is our heart, we’re always delighted to support families in neighbouring counties too.
